Product Description
Taylor Precision Products Body Fat Scale. This scale can monitor your body fat and your body water to the 0.1% (using the bio-electrical impedance analysis (BIA) method), which is precise enough to monitor changes in your body health over time. The 5596G also measures bone mineral mass and muscle mass. This scale also features 10 user memories and operates in either normal mode or athlete mode (for those who work out 10 hours or more per week). The large LCD readout features 3 lines of information, showing all the detail on one screen. There is also a body fat and body water range graph that displays if you are in the optimal zone for your gender and age. Plus, this scale also functions as just a scale -- simply step on to get your accurate weight up to 350 lbs by 0.2 lbs. 5 year warranty.

3 out of 5 stars Works OK, but the BMI is def inaccurate   June 29, 2010
Edgar Angulo-diaz (Alpharetta, GA)
I was excited to get this to start looking at my BMI and water weight but it is TERRIBLY disappointing, sometimes it tells me my BMI is 17.5% at a weight of 151, then it will say its 15% when my weight is 154... it makes no sense and it never seems to calculate it exactly, a complete waste. If I were you I'd just buy a nice digital scale that shows your weight exactly but forgo the BMI function, it simply doesnt work

3 out of 5 stars Taylor Body Fat Scale   June 6, 2010
Bruce A. Meyers (Mesa, AZ United States)
Scale has lots of features; however, it is somewhat difficult to program and save your personal information. It is not very easy to decide whether to set the body fat to normal or to athletic. The setting will significantly affect the percentage of body fat.

1 out of 5 stars Does not give accurate or consistent weight   June 6, 2010
A. Probst
I bought this because it sounded good but it does not give the same weight twice and it varies quite wildly. It is not a good scale.

4 out of 5 stars Easy to use once you set it up   May 11, 2010
MashaMashaMasha
I think some of the negative reviews reflect user errors as opposed to scale malfunctions... This scale is not very intuitive to set up, but read the instructions carefully and once you have it up and running, it's VERY easy to use. It has different profiles so that different people can track their results. It also gives just straight body-weight, which is helpful since taking your body fat percentage is not really useful more than once or twice a month. Your body fat does not change very quickly, it's a long process.

1 out of 5 stars Gives different weight readings every time   April 23, 2010
Mail Nesor (Seattle, WA, USA)
I've never seen a more inconsistent scale. This thing is worthless. If you're reading this right now, DO NOT BUY IT, no matter how low the price is.

Whenever I step on it, it gives my weight as exactly the same as it was last week. And when I try it more times, it gives me weights within a range of five pounds. It's worthless.
